The Medaille d'Amour was created in 1907 at the Lyon-based workshops of Maison A. Augis. Its creator, Alphonse Augis, grandson of the Maison’s founder, was inspired by the lines from “The Song Everlasting”, an 1889 poem by Rosemonde Gérard Rostand expressing heartfelt love to her husband Edmond Rostand.

Drawing on more than one hundred years of expertise, the Médaille d'Amour collection is inspired by a turn-of-the-last-century poem penned by Rosemonde Gérard Rostand, a declaration of love to her writer husband, Edmond Rostand, best known for Cyrano de Bergerac.
Proclaiming a heartfelt promise, the poem declares: “Today more than yesterday, and less than tomorrow.” Designer Alphonse Augis, a grandson of the Maison’s founder, was inspired to translate the poem's line into an enduring symbol.
