The Medaille d'Amour was an ingenious inspiration of jeweller Alphonse Augis who reinterpreted the words of the poem “The Song Everlasting” by Rosemonde Gérard, wife of the famous writer Edmond Rostand.
“For, you see, each day I love you more, Today more than yesterday, less than tomorrow.”
The words are written in the form of a rebus : “+ qu’hier” (more than yesterday) – “- que demain” (less than tomorrow).
